Transformationen wagen

The Transformation Workshop (TrafoWerk) is a training program for employees at all levels and areas of responsibility within public administrations. Its aim is to strengthen their competencies in dealing with and shaping societal transformations.

Transformation implies fundamental restructuring, involving more than just incremental improvements in social and societal systems. It also changes the tasks and working methods of public administrations. TrafoWerk provides the appropriate learning environment, combining the imparting of basic knowledge and methodological skills for shaping transformations. The practical workshop approach supports participants in applying their new skills to their everyday tasks and challenges.

The development, implementation, and evaluation of TrafoWerk have been commissioned within the scope of the research department of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) and carried out by the Federal Environment Agency (UBA). The project was led by the Research Center for Environmental Policy at the Freie University of Berlin and Politics for Tomorrow / nextlearning e.V. Within this framework, the learning program was created in collaboration with the Institute Futur, the Education Innovation Lab, the University of Kassel, and the Competence Center for Design and Management at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The TrafoWerk program was designed and implemented by Politics for Tomorrow / nextlearning e.V. and the Research Center for Environmental Policy at the Freie University of Berlin.
