Government after Shock

Government After Shock is a global initiative initiated and coordinated by the Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OPSI) of the OECD, supported by the European Commission through the Horizon 2020 research framework program.

In our event, organised between Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Denmark, we reflected in various formats on the lessons learned from dealing with the pandemic to develop guidelines for contemporary and forward-thinking interactions between politics and society. Our event was part of a two-day international program where numerous leading figures from various sectors and innovators from around the world discussed how governments responded to COVID-19 and dealt with change.

Rethinking and rebuilding through innovation: The first day consisted of locally oriented, interconnected events (hubs) taking place simultaneously around the globe. Insights were gathered, enabling a strategic and creatively collective response to the events of the year 2020. Collaboration for systemic change beyond the crisis: The second day was a high-profile virtual forum building upon the discussions, insights, and themes from the first day in a large, global conversation, aiming to govern in complex and changing circumstances and promote international cooperation for innovation in the public sector.
