EU-Council Presidency VENRO

The Association of German Development and Humanitarian Aid NGOs (VENRO) led a comprehensive consortium for a project funded by the European Commission on the topic "Towards an open, fair, and sustainable Europe in the world - Second Trio Presidency Project."

The project activities were focused on the political processes related to the EU presidencies of Germany, Portugal, and Slovenia. As part of these activities, VENRO collaborated with the European NGO Confederation for Relief and Development, CONCORD, and organised several workshops on "EU Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development (PCSD) and Trade."

Caroline Paulick-Thiel moderated and facilitated these workshops in close collaboration with the organising team. The goal of the workshops was to discuss the content and processes of joint advocacy towards EU institutions and contribute to the implementation of EU-funded projects. The event series included a workshop on EU trade policy regarding PCSD, a strategy meeting to prepare the annual work plan for CONCORD's PCSD workstream, strategy development with representatives of African NGOs, and other Steering Committee meetings. The outcomes were integrated into various national, European, and international strategy processes.
